The Network of Australasian Museum Exhibitors (NAME) was established at the request of the Council of Australasian Museum Directors (CAMD) in 1992.
NAME can best be described as a public programs officers working group. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for key public program operational staff to meet to discuss common issues as well as providing a working forum for sharing information about each institution and major travelling exhibitions. Within the industry it is seen as the peak exhibitions group in Australia, and now also in New Zealand.
Eligibility criteria to join NAME was established by CAMD with the following criteria:
1. Institutions must be Australian or New Zealand and have either a national or state role;
2. Institutions must develop and tour travelling exhibitions to other NAME venues;
3. Institutions must receive and display travelling exhibitions from other NAME institutions.
